Drawing inspiration from my passion for mahjong, a Chinese tile-based game requiring a square surface, I conceptualized a foldable coffee table crafted from Ash and Walnut. By enhancing its portability and flexibility, the table is designed to be a ready-to-assemble (RTA) furniture piece, offering a unique and versatile solution for spaces that demand both elegance and adaptability

The design ingeniously incorporates three distinct segments of the tabletop, seamlessly interconnected by six strategically placed strap hinges. This configuration allows for the tabletop to be gracefully folded down, transforming into functional "legs" for the table. The two "L"-shaped legs are affixed to the bottom of the table, serving as steadfast support when the table is fully expanded and providing additional stability when folded.
