In crafting this lounge set, my goal is to move beyond conventional functionality and explore the aesthetic potential of simple wood lamination. The calculated folding of the wood serves a dual purpose: enhancing ergonomic comfort and creating a visually striking form. Rooted in basic geometric shapes, the intentional folds contribute to a design that is both refined and visually compelling. This approach combines artistic expression with engineering precision, resulting in a lounge set that seamlessly integrates comfort, functionality, and elegant aesthetics.

Template crafted based on ergonomic research
The chair's form is grounded in an elliptical shape and refined through precise, calculated folding to enhance ergonomic comfort. Crafted from walnut laminate, its rounded corners seamlessly integrate with the geometric structure, creating a visually appealing design. The seating is adorned with black leather, adding a touch of luxury and further emphasizing the chair's commitment to both aesthetic appeal and ergonomic functionality.
Lounge Chair
In line with the lounge chair's design principles, I created a companion side table employing the same technique for a cohesive aesthetic. Derived from a rectangular shape, the table features two elevated platforms tailored to the chair's proportions: a flat surface at arm level for convenient placement of items, and an angled platform for holding magazines and book. This extension of the design language not only ensures visual harmony but also introduces a functional element, providing a seamless and purposeful pairing with the lounge chair.
